What is Counselling?
Counselling is NOT about telling you what you to do. It’s a process of working together in a safe environment to explore, identify and talk about issues, situations, feelings and thoughts that may be upsetting, difficult to manage and which are causing you distress. Working together we try to recognise and acknowledge how you feel about what’s happening in your life and the impact this has on you.
We seek to find a way forward for you to make changes in your life, enabling you to understand and manage issues better and, ideally, to resolve them.
Counselling is a collaboration between the counsellor and the client, working together as equals towards the client’s visualised goal.
