Confidentiality

It’s important for you to feel safe and secure within the counselling relationship. What you say and how you feel is held in confidence within the session and is not discussed outside the counselling setting. In the interests of good practice and safety, however, supervision of a counsellor’s work with a senior supervisor is ethical and a BACP requirement. Your safety is paramount and if there is any serious concern that you may be at risk of harm, or at risk of harming someone else, referral to an appropriate third party would be discussed with you.
